Glennie is on a long and challenging road to recovery, and this fundraiser is dedicated to helping her regain her strength and independence over the next 2–3 months.

Her story

Glennie was suddenly admitted to the hospital with a ruptured and severely inflamed appendix and sepsis on the 24th of January. She underwent a long, open surgery, and three days later her condition required transfer to Intensive Care. Since then, her journey has been a rollercoaster, with several complications along the way. Thankfully, she has now left Intensive Care and is currently (25.02.26) being cared for in the surgical ward. While she is stable and monitored, rehabilitation opportunities are still very limited.

As the day when she can return home is getting closer, we want to make sure she has the support she truly needs. At the moment, Glennie is very weak and depends fully on help for daily activities.

Glenn lives on a modest pension with limited insurance coverage. To regain her strength, mobility, and independence, she will need comprehensive home care and regular physiotherapy. In addition, we will need to rent and partly purchase essential medical equipment for her home care, such as a care bed, shower chair, wheelchair, and other supportive aids to ensure her safety and comfort during recovery.

We need to arrange between two and three caregivers, along with ongoing physiotherapy, for approximately 2–3 months. This period of intensive support will give her the best possible chance to recover enough to live at home, with only minimal assistance.

We are her daughter, Indah, and her sister, Francine. We will both be actively involved in organizing Glennie’s care, and Indah will personally assist with part of her physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
